Engine swap

3000 rpm may be the igniter unit. I beleive the DX and Si units are the same. As far as I know the igniter fails partially....only causing problems as the rpms increase until it will act like a rev limiter with some sputter. But I would check part numbers between them. I'd check the numbers myself as I have both...but I am slammed busy and getting near exhuastion from side-work with everything here lately.

Your replacement distributor shouldn't run but $60~$80 bucks typically with a high side of $100 if you order it from another parts yard.

so I should check both and if the same switch it and then see what happens because I get a code 4 on the ecu
woeld that have anything to do with the igniter

I'll take a picture of my DX converted harness and post it later tonight. It shows the correct pinout for the Si distributor connector of the DX harness. I also need to dig through some swap notes and make sure I can give you the correct pins on the ECU.

The numbers on the Igniter unit are the same I changed it and I'm still geting the same problem

i had the same problem with my 89 integra and the problem was with a sensor, not sure the name sorry.

But i am currently having the same problem now but i belive its the ecu fault

i would call local honda dealer just for more info
